I've always had a love for baking. Making messes and experimenting in the kitchen has always been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. Growing up, my dad taught me everything from fried eggs to creme brûlée. However, the desserts just stuck, so he would buy me ingredients once a week to practice and make new recipes. As I've grown up, nothing has really changed. I am still constantly looking to try new things and improve my art as much as possible as I love when I get to be creative. I first tried macarons a five years ago in Vegas from Bouchon Bakery and I instantly knew I wanted to make them. After months of time, lots of money, experimenting with hundreds of recipes and different techniques, I finally made my own recipe and I finally got what I wanted from my macarons. Oddly enough, I didn’t plan on having a business but I just fell into it! It is funny how timing works - the company I was working for was going out of business so my boyfriend suggested that I start selling my own bakery items. I started selling to friends and family first which turned into friends of friends, etc. It was at that time that I made social media pages, acquired all my licenses/insurance/commissary kitchen rental, all the things I needed to be an actual business. I started by posting pictures of what I was making and it took off from there. Nothing has gone as planned and I’m still constantly thinking of what’s next but I can’t imagine myself being happy and fulfilled in any other career. This journey has been the most stressful thing I’ve ever done but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I’m so excited for the future and everything I have planned. I’ve made such amazing relationships with my customers, I’ve made some really amazing friends, I’ve learned so much about running a small business and I’m so thankful for all of your support. Supporting my small business means everything to me, and as cliche as it is, I wouldn’t be able to do this without all of my customers!
